Ipswich turns up the heat for chilli festival!

Date Published: 11/10/2021

Saturday 27th November 2021 will see Ipswich Showgrounds Twilight Markets welcome a special guest – the brand new Ipswich Chilli Festival.

From 3pm to 10pm, the market precinct will be heating up with all manner of family fun.

Brought to you by the producers of Briz Chilli Fest and Chillogan Chilli Festival, all the usual fun things will be there – Hellfire Alley, Afterburn Bar, Live Music, Dancers, Chilli Challenges, Pony Rides, Animal Nursery, Motorcycle Display, VIP Dog Training Agility Display, plus of course a nice selection of freshly prepared chilli food to tempt those taste buds – and of course some not to hot food as well.

We will have a chilli plant seller on site to give advice on growing and caring for your plants, and there will be free workshops on chilli plant growing and creating Bonchi (chilli bonsai).

“We are excited to be working with Ipswich Show Society to be part of their monthly Twilight Market series,” said organiser, Scarlett Habanero.

“So many great people live in this area, families, hard working people who really appreciate the work that goes into putting a festival together.  I am happy to put this on for them and hope they support me as I’m just another business which has lost their livelihood through Covid cancellations, ” she said.

The Ipswich Showgrounds has recently installed new fairy lighting on their beautiful treed market precinct and no matter how warm the chilli festival gets, patrons will be cool.

The warm weather will lend itself to a nice cold beer or cocktail from the Afterburn Bar, while the kids can play in the nearby Kidz Zone.

“I’m trying to include as many local businesses as possible, so please contact me if you would like to participate in any way; lots of discounts for locals,” said Ms Habanero.

While general entry tickets are only available through the gates at $5 per adult (children 12 years and under are free). tickets for our VIP Champagne Experience are only available for pre-sale via Humanitix.

Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for all the details as due to the late-stage planning, we do not have a website for the festival.
