Summer heat will come early to Ipswich as the “heatwave” of the Ipswich Chilli Festival arrives at the Showgrounds on Sunday 10th September, 2022, from 11am to 7pm.

“We are excited to be going it alone this year at the front market section of the Showgrounds, “said organiser, Scarlett Habanero of My Chilli Festival

My Chilli Festival also organises the Brisbane, Logan, Darwin and Sydney Chilli Festivals, and is an online directory of Chilli Festivals in Australia, the UK and NZ.

The Showgrounds is a historic venue with great facilities, ample parking and a central location.

The festival charity partner is Lil Bug Love, headed by Cindy Barden, providing support for children caught up in domestic violence issues.

“We’re so excited to have been chosen as the exclusive charity partner for My Chili Festival’s suite of events.  As a small organisation it means a lot to us,” said Ms Barden.

In 2021, the event was compromised by bad weather forcing the merger with the Night Markets under one roof at the Events Centre.

“Whilst we were grateful not to have to cancel the event, our brand was somewhat diluted by the many stalls which did not belong to the festival, and ultimately it was a negative thing,” said Habanero.

“But this year, we are going it alone and looking forward to well and truly cementing our brand under the beautiful fig trees at the front of the Showgrounds,” she said.
