At a recent Logan Women in Business Networking breakfast, our CCO Scarlett Habanero met the amazing Areta of Bush Kindy Teaching.

If you thought that going to kindy meant going to a building and having a playground for your children to enjoy, think again!

Areta just loves the outdoors and exploiting the many wonderful outdoor spaces that Logan has at its disposal.

Remember what it was like to jump in puddles, have leaf races, chase butterflies, make mud-pies?   Areta is making her life’s work ensuring children can still enjoy these daily opportunities even if their mum and dad are working full-time.

“My aim is to expose children to the wonders of nature from a young age.  This will hopefully spillover to their adult lives so they can care more about the environment and the minutae of nature – the tiny bugs, tiny flowerbuds, leaves in the wind, tree bark, grass seeds – all these things make up the world,” said Areta.

Bush Kindy Teaching is all about nature play, songs, games and puppets.
