Matt is holding the sceptre which is part of the winner’s garb when victorious in a chilli challenge.

On 18th May 2025, the Entertainment Quarter will come alive with spicy, barbecue fun as the inaugural Sydney Superhot takes place under the weather-proof Market Canopy between 12-7pm.

Organiser Scarlett Habanero is no stranger to chilli festival planning, having now 10 festivals under her belt in the Sunshine State.

“I’ve long wanted to take my festivals to a bigger audience and as Sydney hasn’t yet enjoyed a truly fabulous event in an even more fabulous venue, I have finally settled on the date of 18th May 2025.

“It was a long time getting to this point with a few blockers in the way since first launching the brand in 2022, but good things come to those who wait,” said Ms Habanero.

Like her Queensland events, the Sydney Superhot promises to be a family-friendly event, with a full program from 12-7pm featuring four chilli challenges, great live music, guest chefs, and of course Hellfire Alley featuring hot sauces and products, as well as barbecue heat!

“We’re looking forward to bringing the heat to Sydney,” said Habanero.
